Mollusc - 2020

My primary focus for this piece was on the deliberate layering of paint mediums to bring about texture, scale, and a tangible sense of dimension to the canvas. Alongside creating this artwork, I also worked in tandem on its sister painting, “Le Grand Mélange,” which shares a harmonious palette and a familial connection with “Mollusc”.

I approached this piece without any fixed intentions; it was more of an exploratory journey. I experimented with stacking and layering paints and other mediums, while also inquisitively playing with different form-making techniques and approaches.
