Euphorie\\The Gold One - 2019

In this piece, I wanted to explore the realms of luminescence while purposefully stepping outside the boundaries of abstract pareidolia. This moment was pivotal in my artistic journey—it’s where I chose to begin experimenting with scale, bold brushwork, and more deliberate expression, which led to the creation of a new aesthetic language for myself. Moving away from the confines of abstract shapes, I ventured into vivid, mark-making forms, opening a new chapter within my practice.

I used gold metallic paints as the foundation, which gave the piece an ethereal glow and a radiant core that draws the observer in. My angular and audacious brushstrokes bring dynamism and depth to the canvas, allowing the composition to evolve and unfold as you engage with it. I’ve woven bold, enigmatic metallics with expansive, dynamic brush and mark-making techniques, in an aim to lead the viewer on a mesmerising journey within the artwork.
