Untitled - 2017 (SOLD)

Acrylic & Paper Collage
on Canvas.

This piece is part of my first painting series, "Untitled Series," a three-part set of paintings exploring the same theme. Throughout this creative process, I embarked on an experimental quest, delving into the world of texture, exploring how different mediums interact, and broadening my understanding of fine art practices.

My goal was to seamlessly blend my experience in paper collage and graphic media—areas I'm well-versed in—with fine art and painting techniques that were new to me at the time. As I mentioned in an earlier reference, "I wanted to explore new artistic possibilities and use this opportunity to further expand my practical painting skills and deepen my understanding of new techniques and practices."

To achieve this, I created illustrative self-portraits using graphic media and illustration practices, printing them out to serve as a collaged base layer on the canvas. From there, I methodically layered acrylic paints on top, carefully introducing textured depth by incorporating more torn paper and watered-down paints, combining these elements into a cohesive whole, and working until I was eventually pleased with the result.
