Fever Dream
- 2018\\19

Rock salt, Acrylic
& Emulsion Paint on Canvas.

“Fever Dream” is characterised by a rich blend of colours and textures. This piece features a vibrant and dynamic abstract composition, in which my visceral, pareidolia-led style is aptly conveyed. The colours are unapologetically bold and unrestrained, making this piece a cornerstone of my early portfolio. The strokes of blues, pinks, yellows, and reds, which fluidly intermingle across the canvas, create a sense of motion and exude an energy that I perceive as both daring and inviting. The colours blend seamlessly into one another, yet retain enough distinction to stand out individually, creating a harmonious yet somewhat chaotic visual experience, which, to some degree, emulates my life at that time.

The application of various mediums, including the addition of rock salt, adds a thick, textural feel, giving the piece a tactile, almost three-dimensional quality. In the broader context of my work, this piece holds a special place, resonating with me on a personal level and marking the cusp of a pivotal moment in my artistic practice. It’s a vivid, high-energy blend of textures and colours that evokes a deep sense of wonder, leaving a lasting impact that lingers long after you’ve stepped away.
