Mr Lee Lives
X Offspring
X Selfridges: Commission - 2017

In 2017, I was commissioned by the renowned artist Mr. Lee Lives to graphically edit a video logo, which he needed for his social media platforms to announce an upcoming collaboration with the brand Offspring and Selfridges & Co., a prestigious London department store and institution. Mr. Lee contacted me directly after seeing my previous work on Instagram and needed the project completed on a tight deadline. Despite the last-minute request, I worked closely with him to deliver a visually impactful and unique video logo that captured his brand and artistic vision, successfully meeting his aesthetic and branding needs within the required timeframe.

This was a fantastic opportunity for me, as I had never received a videography commission before, nor had I worked with a well-known artist like Mr Lee. The fact that he reached out to me directly, having seen my earlier work on Instagram, meant a lot—it was incredibly impactful to have someone so established see the value in my work at such an early stage in my practice. Additionally, the fact that he trusted me to complete the work within the timeline and produce something he would be happy to use for such a distinguished and important collaboration in his career really bolstered my professional confidence. It was a pivotal moment in my early creative career and taught me invaluable lessons about working with people, correctly pricing my work, and recognising the value I have to offer as an artist.

He specifically referenced my 2017 "Self Indulgence" and "I Want U" typography videos as inspiration for the style he wanted the commission to resemble.

This is the finished video logo commission in both colour grades. I initially created a full-colour version; however, Mr. Lee later requested that the piece be monochromatic, in keeping with his brand aesthetic.
